The Union Home Mortgage Foundation, a charitable organization whose mission is to equip families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency, announced it is giving back by donating $7,500 to Housing for New Hope.
Durham, NC – Feb. 3, 2022 – In an ongoing effort to support and improve local communities, the Union Home Mortgage Foundation (UHMF) is giving back by donating $7,500 to Housing for New Hope.
Housing for New Hope creates data-informed programs that encourage, motivate and enable individuals and families experiencing homelessness to take their next step toward achieving long-term, stable housing.
UHMF funding will support Housing for New Hope’s Streets to Home Supportive Housing Program. This program provides long-term rental assistance (24 months or longer) where participants pay no more than 30% of their annual adjusted gross income. The program also offers supportive services to those living with a disability and experiencing chronic homelessness. The Streets to Home program currently serves more than 35 participants.
“We are grateful for the funding we received from the Union Home Mortgage Foundation supporting our outreach and supportive housing programs that keep unsheltered individuals and families in safe, permanent housing—especially during cold winter nights,” said April Johnson, Director of Community Engagement & Giving at Housing for New Hope.
“Housing provides so much more than just a roof over your head; it is inextricably tied to nearly every aspect of a person’s well-being,” said Bill Cosgrove, President & CEO of Union Home Mortgage. “We’re excited to be able to continue to partner with Housing for New Hope to further their efforts to support a variety of homeless populations.”
