Grand Rapids, Michigan – May 26, 2021 – The Union Home Mortgage Foundation, a charitable organization whose mission is to equip families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency, today announced it is giving back by donating $5,000 to Home Repair Services (HRS) of Kent County, Michigan.
This funding to HRS from the UHM Foundation will ensure free foreclosure intervention counseling for homeowners in crisis. This funding will support approximately 100 Kent County residents this year.
HRS is a Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-certified nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen vulnerable homeowners because the organization believes strong homeowners build strong communities. HRS carries out this mission through group financial literacy offerings, as well as self-help programs, like their Fix-it School and kitchen remodeling workshops. HRS also offers safety and accessibility repairs for homeowners in need.
